A Complete Self Study Guide for CDS Examination

The “Combined Defense Services” (CDS) Examination is conducted twice a year by the Union
Public Service Commission (UPSC) to induct officers in the Indian Defense Forces, Indian Army,
Indian Navy Indian Airforce. Candidates qualifying the written examination are interviewed
by Service Selection Board (SSB). Finally selected candidates depending on their choice are sent
to Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, Naval Academy, Goa, Air Force Academy, Hyderabad and
Officers Training Academy, Chennai.
The Written Exam consists of three papers; Paper 1: Elementary Mathematics, Paper English
& Paper III: General Knowledge, all the papers contain objective questions.
